Short Term Power Prices

Read yesterday in an article dated Oct 9, 2010 that the short term power prices in India are much higher than those in countries like Germany, England and US.

What it claims is that majority of the ST power contracts happen outside the 2 exchanges (Power Exchange India and Indian Energy Exchange) at a price which is higher by 40 to 60%. The exchanges contribute only to 10% of the total ST power trading that happens in India.
